Understanding the components of a shower faucet: What every homeowner needs to understand.
At Beyond Tile our forward thinking engineering department has solved the biggest problems that every homeowner faces, All shower systems are made of many internal components that are designed to work together to manage water at the correct temperature and desired pressure. Other parts of the shower like the handles and shower head are clearly visible and easily maintainable, Unfortunately the hidden parts like the valve body, it’s cartridges and the hot and cold water supply lines are not fully accessible.
Simple maintenance like removing mineral build-up and lubricating the moving parts will extend the life of the shower and help keep it in tip-top condition. However, when a component inside the shower wall fails, more often than not you are relegated to calling in a licensed plumber to repair or replace the failures.
Typically, to correct the problem requires breaking out the tile or opening a wall from the upside side of the shower wall if tile damage is not an option to fully access the problem. Often times it’s on an exterior wall and that’s extremely costly to do.
Let’s face it, it’s going to be expensive and a real headache that you’ll need to navigate to get your shower back.
Plumbers do plumbing, not tile work, drywall or brick repairs.
